Telstra Velocity is upgrading

On 24 December 2020, Uniti Group Limited acquired Telstra Velocity Fibre Network with 50,000 active services, now waiting in transition to Opticomm Network, a subsidiary of Uniti Group Limited.

Telstra Velocity uses old technology and now since Opticomm owns Velocity, it will soon perform a network upgrade to modern and latest technology.

This upgrade will make internet more reliable and end users will get opportunity to select higher speed plans (upto 1Gbps) in a competitive rates in these areas.

How does upgrade benefit End Users?

1. Faster Speed Plans

Telstra Velocity only had two speed tiers

• Velocity Standard Speed 25/1 Mbps ( 25 Mbps download/ 1 Mbps upload)
• Velocity Premium Speed 80/5 Mbps (80 Mbps download/5 Mbps upload)

However, after the transition and upgrade you get options to chose high speed tiers with great upload speed.

When will upgrade happen?
