Telstra Velocity is upgrading
On 24 December 2020, Uniti Group Limited acquired Telstra Velocity Fibre Network with 50,000 active services, now waiting in transition to Opticomm Network, a subsidiary of Uniti Group Limited.
Telstra Velocity uses old technology and now since Opticomm owns Velocity, it will soon perform a network upgrade to modern and latest technology.
This upgrade will make internet more reliable and end users will get opportunity to select higher speed plans (upto 1Gbps) in a competitive rates in these areas.

Telstra Velocity only had two speed tiers
- Velocity Standard Speed 25/1 Mbps ( 25 Mbps download/ 1 Mbps upload)

When will upgrade happen?
As per Opticomm, Network upgrade will start from July 2022 and will happen on an area by area basis, based on the geographic location.
The upgrade should take approximately 13 months to be completed throughout the Velocity Estate
In order to upgrade the network, Opticomm will need to arrange a technician to perform an onsite visit and make necessary changes.
